RS Aero Rocket Regatta set for March

The Indian River Yacht Club RS Aero Rocket Regatta sailed on the Banana River in Cocoa, FL, adjoining Port Canaveral and the Space Center on March 8-10.

The launch point is excellent from the beach at Kelly Park at the NW corner adjacent to the Beachline Causeway.  Excellent accommodations and dining are very close by in Cape Canaveral. The sailing area is superb – a great venue!

This event precedes Round 5 at Sarasota by 1 week to enable distance travelers to sail events on adjacent weekends for convenience and utility.

Blue skies, warm water, outstanding venues, great racing awaits you! See you soon!

Clinic – Friday 8th is a clinic by RS Aero 9 two time World Champion, Marc Jacobi.

Charters – For charter information please contact Marc Jacobi at USA@RSAerosailing.org

  1. There are about 8-10 RS Aero charter boats available to sail for the Rocket Regatta and intended for local sailors to have an opportunity to try this awesome little boat. Don’t miss this chance to sail with the two time World Champion and experience a state of the art dinghy. At 66 lbs hull weight and about 85 lbs all up weight, the Aeros will be the Rockets this weekend!

  2. Interest in the Aero Rocket Regatta is heating up with both existing owners and amongst first timers eager to try this exciting little boat. Word is that maybe the current US female Olympian will be sailing with us either at this event or one of the others! Other “hot” sailors are also expected. Here is your chance to sail the Aero in good company.

  3. To address some questions on registration for the IRYC RS Aero Rocket Regatta March 8-10, it is simply a mail in of a check payable to the Indian River Yacht Club for $40 until January 31 and $45 thereafter to Race Chairman, Mike Nulf, at 480 Sail Lane, Merritt Island, FL 32953. Note your sail number e.g. Aero 1610, on your check. Full registration will be at the race venue at Kelly Park, Merritt Island, on March 9.
