Ladies on the Lake Charity Regatta, Flying Scot Florida District Series #6 Event, and Catalina 22 Region 3 Championships. Enjoy a weekend of sailing at Lake Monroe Sailing Association located in Historical Downtown Sanford. This event is held annually to raise funds for The Lifeboat Project, a local Apopka based charity organization that helps survivors of human trafficking.
Events are scheduled for March 13th – 15th. Registration is now open and available online via Regatta Network.
The regatta is open to all boats to compete in either one-design or Portsmouth D-PN racing. One-design classes require a minimum of five boats registered by the registration deadline. Expected one-design classes include: Lightning, San Juan 21, Sunfish, RS Aero, Hobie Wave, Capri 22, and Catalina 22.
Lake Monroe Sailing Association is hosting a regatta on April 12 – 14th. All lady Sunfish sailors are strongly encouraged to come race. Also, if anyone is interested in driving or crewing, there is a possibility of that as well. A pub crawl is planned for Friday night in support of the local Sanford businesses. The ladies race on Saturday with a dinner and raffle to follow. All proceeds go to the charity The Lifeboat Project, which is an organization that helps rehabilitate human trafficking victims.
