Looking For Boat or Crew

If you are in need of a boat or crew for this event, we have created a dedicated post just for you.

10/20 Small Boat Regatta

0900 – 1100 Registration, $60 includes a t-shirt and Saturday night pasta dinner with door prizes and raffles. Students $20 (no t-shirt, no dinner). First warning at 12:30. Dinner-only tickets only $10.

10/21 Small Boat Regatta

First race at 11:00. Small Boat Regatta awards at 15:00 in the MYC clubhouse. Bar opens at 14:00.

10/22 Seamanship Competition

Seamanship Competition and Man Over Board Panel Discussion. Bar will open at 17:00.

Seamanship Competition starts at 17:00. Participation is free. Tie three knots as fast as you can, answer a couple of navigation questions, and describe your reaction to a safety scenario. Seamanship Award to be presented after the competition.

Man Over Board Panel Discussion starts at18:00. Participation is free. Panel of five professionals with moderator will discuss three Man Over Board scenarios. The panel will include a marine electronics representative, a marine safety equipment representative, ASA certified Sailing Instructor, Life Guard and USCG SAR personnel. Question and answer period to follow.

10/23 Old Fogey’s Race

Registration between 12:00 to 13:00. $20. Open to any dinghy with a Portsmouth Rating. If no rating is available, one will be assigned. First start will be in Melbourne Harbor. Race will run to Melbourne Beach Pier, with a few mark roundings in between. Enjoy some snacks and beverages at the pier. Second race starts at the pier at approximately 15:30 and finishes off the East Dock of MYC.  Awards will be presented after the race in the MYC clubhouse. Bar will be open after the race.

10/24 Fleet Starting Practice

PHRF practice starts in the vicinity of the Rum Race Can. First start at 17:00. Participation is free. If you can’t make it till later, come anyway. Sequences will continue till just after dusk. MYC bar open afterward.

10/25 Adult Pram Race

Participation is free. Boat set-up at 16:00. First heat starts at 17:00. Pot Luck Dinner at 18:30 – bring your dish with enough to share.  Awards will be presented. Bar opens at 17:00.

Big Boat Regatta:

The $100 registration includes all weekend races, t-shirt and tickets for Friday and Saturday night dinners. Weekend races include both PHRF Triangle Racing, and also the PHRF distance races or J24 W/L races.

PHRF Triangle Races will be held on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. There will be three races altogether, each run and scored independently, with prizes for each race. Scoring will be PHRF Time on Time. You may participate in one, two or all three races.

The PHRF distance races and J24 W/L races will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

10/26 Triangle Races

Registration for PHRF Triangle Races from 11:00 to 12:30 with Skipper’s Meeting at 12:30. The first two of three PHRF Triangle Races will be held on Friday afternoon, and the third on Saturday morning. First Warning at 14:00. Second race start follows (approximately 16:00). Dinner of burgers and dogs included for racers. Awards presented at dinner.

Registration for Saturday and Sunday distance and one design races Friday night 18:00-19:00 $100, (Includes t-shirt and dinner,  additional dinner tickets $12).

10/27 Big Boat Regatta

Registration 8:30. Skippers meeting at 9:30. The third PHRF Triangle Race starts at 11:00, with awards to be presented at Saturday dinner.

PHRF distance races or J24 W/L Start at 13:00. Pork loin dinner served at 18:00, with door prizes and fun. The bar will be open.

10/28 Big Boat Regatta

PHRF distance races and J24 W/L First start at 11:00 Dark & Stormy Party at 15:00, with awards, prizes for Sailor of the Week, Boat of the Week. Bar opens at 14:00 and hot dogs will be available.
